File Formats

PrintNinja prefers to receive files as multi-page PDFs.

Saddle-Stitched:

For saddle-stitched projects, submit your multi-page PDF in reading order starting with the front cover as page 1, the inside front cover as page 2, and proceed from there.  The back cover will therefore be the last page.

Perfect Bound:

For perfect bound projects, set up your cover file using PrintNinja’s softcover setup guide, and then submit the rest of your files as a multi-page PDF, starting with the inside front cover as page 1 and ending with the inside back cover.

Case Bound:

For case bound projects, set up your cover file using PrintNinja’s hardcover setup guide, and if you have a dust jacket set it up using PrintNinja’s dust jacket setup guide, then submit the rest of your files as a multi-page PDF, starting with the pasted down inside front cover as page 1 and ending with the pasted down inside back cover.

Board Book:

For board book projects, set up your cover file using PrintNinja’s board book cover setup guide, and then submit the rest of your files as a multi-page PDF, starting with the inside front cover as page 1 and ending with the inside back cover.

Wire / Spiral Bound:

For wire bound and spiral bound projects, submit your multi-page PDF in reading order starting with the front cover as page 1, the inside front cover as page 2, and proceed from there. The back cover will therefore be the last page.

Alternative Formats:

If you cannot submit a multi-page PDF, PrintNinja can also accept Photoshop (PSD) files, InDesign (IDD) packages, TIFF files or JPEG files, although PDF is our preferred format.
