In 2003, Russell Potterfield was a business owner with a problem.
He was paying too much for his business printing needs, and it seemed like the costs just kept rising.
As he started to explore ways to reduce his mounting printing costs, he discovered the huge cost savings that could be achieved by printing overseas. Skeptical at first, he started small, but over time his company did more and more of their printing in China. He found that not only was it incredibly cost-effective, the quality of the printing was just as high as he was used to expecting from American and Canadian printers.
The only element he was missing was control. International commerce is fraught with risk, and doing business across two languages and cultures as diverse as those of China and the US causes huge complications.
So, in 2009, Russ, his wife, and his four kids all moved to Shenzhen, China, where he established an office to combat all of these issues and control everything right at the source, eliminating the cross-cultural and transnational barriers once and for all.
At this point, he realized he had to share his discovery with the world, and PrintNinja was born.
PrintNinja’s US office was established to handle account management, customer service, and prepress, while the China office handled production, quality assurance, and logistics. By having strong, highly interconnected teams in both offices, PrintNinja gained the unique ability to make international printing even easier and more reliable than printing with a local printing company while keeping prices and minimums as low as possible, a goal we strive for to this day.
In the years since then, PrintNinja has printed millions of, comic books, children’s books, games, magazines, and catalogs for thousands of independent creators, publishers, and businesses. Our reputation is the best in the industry, and we work hard every day to uphold it.
But don’t take it from us. In 2015 we teamed up with Trustpilot to begin collecting objective customer feedback, and we invite you to visit the PrintNinja page on trustpilot.com to get an idea of what our customers really think.
International offset printing made ridiculously easy.
